Kelly Kronfeld is the founder and owner of art & kustom kreations® in Houston, Texas. Kronfeld began the company in 2003 following years of experience as an educator. She built the company on the working conviction that there is more than one way to do the same thing, and adding creativity makes it all the more interesting and fun. Her beliefs were developed and molded, literally over the course of Kronfeld’s life, as she found joy in art and creating things from her childhood years in Delaware and Chicago. She followed that through by attaining a B.S. degree in Elementary Education, and minor in Studio Art From DePaul University, M.S. degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in Educational Technology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, an Ed.S. in Administrative Leadership for Teaching and Learning from Walden University, and continues that passion today as she completes her work on an Ed.D. in Administrative Leadership for Teaching and Learning, also from Walden University.
Kronfeld’s works are displayed in several juried shows as well as area locations, including a law office, realtor brokerage firm, and the Pearland Chamber of Commerce. Her most recent Pearland community endeavor was the completion of a large pear statue for the Pearland PearScape project. The sponsor was Pearland Medical Center; however, the actual location of the pear is yet to be determined. Kronfeld owns an art studio and boutique gallery in Pearland, TX. She resides in Houston, TX with her son.
Taught to color inside the lines at a young age, I had my own ideas, but I listened and learned. Blessed to attend a high school with an amazing fine arts program, it was there that I blossomed and found my passion. I learned the art of figure drawing and explored a variety of mediums. My style lends itself to impressionism, and throughout the years I have completed several commissioned works from mural projects to abstract contemporary pieces. Ultimately, I truly enjoy listening to people and finding out about their interests then brainstorming creative ways to make their ideas come alive. My experience and education has proven my conviction in the philosophy that art can nurture the inner self and unleash the potential within each person. I firmly believe that on the road to creativity, the paths that appear are not always the ones on the map; it’s okay to take a detour. Ideas inspire our destination, and we should be passionate about encouraging creativity.
